We are looking for a person who knows how to combine responsible business with the mission of WWF and help us mobilize the business world to be much more actively involved in the protection and conservation of nature and biodiversity in the Adria region. We need an experienced expert on the corporate environment in the Adria region to help us involve the business community in jointly addressing the most important issues of our region, such as combating climate change, sustainable development and protection of plant and animal species.

This is a completely new role that implies a high degree of creative and strategic action for the purpose of actively connecting the corporate and non-governmental sectors and finding common solutions to the development challenges facing the Adria region.

Position title: Corporate Engagement Manager
Reports to: Director of Communications and Fundraising
Location: Belgrade or Zagreb

WWF Adria is representing WWF within the countries of Western Balkans with more than 60 employees. It operates through the WWF Adria office in Zagreb (Croatia), WWF Adria-Serbia office in Belgrade (Serbia), and partner organizations and consultants in other countries of the region. To implement its conservation goals WWF Adria operates in the structure of different programmes (Marine, Freshwater, Protected Areas & Governance and Wildlife) which are contributing to the protection of different ecosystems or to the improvement of the governance of protected areas.

- Mission:
Managing the strategic partnership development of WWF Adria and initiating partnerships relevant to the plan and institutional vision of WWF Adria such as maintaining strategic partnerships with the private sector.
Corporate Engagement Officer will be responsible for providing strategy, implementation and technical oversight, recommendations, planning and evaluation of fundraising strategies and establishing partnerships with the business sector with the objective of acquiring new quality private engagement on a regional level. He/she is responsible for converting WWF Adria key programmatic activities into bankable and attractive projects of interest to corporate sector. He/she drives WWF Adria’s approach to corporate and business sector with an emphasis on transformational partnerships and income generation growth of Adria’s portfolio.
- Major Functions:
- Developing effective communications and partnerships to position WWF Adria among business sector, to leverage opportunities at national and regional levels;
- Acquiring new Strategic (business) Partners, to raise funds for the implementation of the WWF Adria goals and to undertake communication cooperation;
- Representation of WWF Adria at meetings with companies (medium and large enterprises) and during key industry events;
- Performing analysis of opportunities and risks of potential cooperation, creation and presentation of B2B cooperation offers based on the strategy of the WWF Adria;
- Maintaining relations, ongoing contact, preparation of financial and substantive reports and reports for Partners;
- Coordination and negotiation of partnership projects with companies;
- Analysis and monitoring of the market situation, especially in the area of development of cooperation between NGOs and business, cooperation with the WWF network;
- Ongoing cooperation with members of the WWF Adria team, in particular regarding the transfer of knowledge and feedback as well as providing information necessary for advocacy, communication, fundraising and reporting activities, including financial and administrative activities;
- Participation in the work of other WWF structures;
- Performing tasks in accordance with internal regulations/procedures/regulations etc. of WWF.
- Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:
- Development of a consistent corporate engagement strategy, action plan, and budget that enables WWF Adria to improve efficiency and effectiveness of its corporate fundraising activity;
- Performing analysis of opportunities and risks of potential cooperation, creation and presentation of B2B cooperation offers based on the strategy of the WWF Adria;
- Negotiating terms of cooperation and concluding contracts with potential Partners;
- Strategic development and oversight of investment and budget, to provide regular financial and donor reports, according to agreed KPIs. Creating reports and evaluation assessment for the Finance team, the Board and if needed WWF International
- Regularly collaborate with the other colleagues in the fundraising department (Global Development Center), communications, conservation, F & A departments and works together with relevant regional and International staff, on the different relevant issues within the teams
- Support WWF Adria CEO, SMT, program managers and project leaders in dialogue with donors and partners;
- Performing reports and evaluation assessment for the Finance team, the Board and if needed WWF International;
- Stay updated on developments in WWF International policy, standards and procedures and ensure Adria SMT, program leaders and other concerned staff are informed, trained and committed to corporate engagement.
- Profile:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a corporate role preferably with experience in corporate social responsibility roles, corporate philanthropy and/or corporate fundraising roles
- In-depth knowledge of the environmental and socio-economic challenges across the Western Balkans / Adria region.
- University degree in Business Management, Marketing, International Relations, International Development, or a similar track degree with a proven record of delivering tangible results and acting independently. Additional academic training or degree in an environmental / conservation field is considered a strong asset.
- Proven track record in successfully developing or managing programs in the field of corporate giving, corporate philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, ESG reporting and engaging business for change
- Proven skills in managing partnerships, including ability to negotiate complex agenda and conflicting priorities
- Proactivity, independence, ambition and consistency in action.
- Diplomacy and the ability to build long-term relationships with business partners.
- Teamwork and networking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and any other language of the region.
